A voluntary chef will present 12 different local dishes/products to the TCN(s). the TCN(s) also are going to have cards with names of different dishes and products in front of them. Moreover, they will have plenty of cards with local and foreign ingredients (will be more than once for some ingredients), cards with name of local places (cities, villages, areas etc), and 12 cards with description of the meaning for every one of the dishes/products. The main purpose of the activity is to find and match the name, the ingredients, the place and the description of every one of the 12 specific dishes/products.
The challenge of this activity is to make the TCN(s) to participate in a taste and visual game with the most famous dishes/products of the local cuisine. The voluntary chef plays the role of the coordinator in this activity who will guide the TCN(s) through the execution of the activity.
- A voluntary local chef or someone that is familiar with the local cuisize
- A place for group meetings, where there will be suitable space to place the different dishes/products.
- Cooked local dishes.
- Local products (food/drinks).
- Cards for the lists ( dishes/product names, descriptions, ingredients, places)
Implementation Steps
The voluntary local chef brings 12 different local dishes/products to the meeting. He/she should create 4 lists:
- First a list of cards with more than 12 names of dishes/products,
- second a list with plenty of ingredients (a lot of ingredients will be present more than once),
- third a list with names of local cities, villages, areas etc.,
- finally will create a list with 12 name descriptions of the dishes/products. Every card must write the information in English and in the local language.
The TCN(s) in a first stage will taste and observe each one of the dishes/products. In the second stage the TCN(s) must to choose from the 4 lists the name, the place, the name description and the ingredients of the dishes/products.
